Journal 8- Alyssa

An important core value I believe I have is being kind and helpful to anyone I come across. I have always believed in treating people the way you want to be treated. Smiling and saying hello, how are you, to people passing by is one easy way of being kind and could possibly make someones day. Another thing I often do, when I can is pay for peoples meals out to eat or help with groceries. You never know, small gestures could mean the world to someone. A second important core value I believe I have is being a genuine person. I try to be myself around everyone. If I feel I cannot be, then I stay to myself and stay quiet. If you are real with people the more they will respect you.

Being self employed is something I could see happening in my future. My husband and I would love to open our own family owned bar/lounge. A place where people can walk in and always feel welcomed, feel like a family. A place with multiple games for people to choose from, TV's to watch football games and UFC fights, great drinks, food and great service. A wild, to me, career that I had been serious about in 10th grade was to be in the Air Force. I filled out all the paperwork, and even met with a Drill Instructor. By time I had received more information, around graduation, I had become pregnant. Obviously, I choose to be home and take care of my son and that dream never and will never become reality. Although, It would be great to learn more about.

This is how I imagine our place. A bar, a lounge area, TVs, maybe a dance floor. The seats to be filled with family and friends, new and old.

  1. I think its so cool you want to own your own bar. I used to want to own my own bakery. Depending where you decide to live most bars always thrive.

  2. I think you should definitely open your own bar/lounge! When I was in Tennessee there were places like this everywhere and everyone loved them!
