Journal 9- Brady Hund

After reading "Carl McNair, 57, Remembers His Brother, Astronaut Ronald McNair, With His Friend Vernon Skipper, 57" I got more interested in learning about the Challenger space shuttle and was wondering who else was all on it. After researching on Space.com, Ive learned that the challenger is the shuttle disaster that changed nasa. The challenger was one of NASAs greatest achievements. It was the second shuttle to make it into space and it actually completed nine milestone missions. The challenger spent 62 days, 7 hours, 56 minutes, and 22 seconds in space before a devastating explosion killed everyone on the shuttle during its 10th milestone mission.

A theme Id like to talk about is Dreaming and Family. After reading about Library Assistant Stormy Reyes I learned that so many people in the world deal with many obstacles in their lives in which are ruining their hopes and dreams. Stormy grew up with alcoholic parents who both abused and neglected her. So many people in the world are dealing with the same issues growing up and its ruining their lives. I think family is very important in a childs life and guiding and taking care of them should be a parents number one priority.

The best vocal learned I found was the word "Thralled." it means, a person who is morally  or mentally enslaved by some power, or influence. I like this word because I think that more than 90% of our country is filled with Thralled people even though they might not know it. Just about everyone is a slave to their country, their bosses, and their leaders. We all follow rules and live the same life every day. There are just a few leaders out there in this world but there are millions of followers, looking to be told what to do.

  1. That's interesting. I also wondered who was on the space shuttle.
