Journal Two from Daryn

Hi my name is Daryn Stiers. This is my first semester at OSUM. I am going to school for early childhood education. I'm from Marysville and went to Marysville High School. I graduated from high school early due to having my son, Ezra, in September. When I get older I want to move to Seattle, Washington. Fun fact about me is I've been to or through 35 states.

Theme that really stood out to me is that when she was talking about her name and house. None of it was good enough for her. She hated her name and the house was to embarrassing. I feel this is important because it lets us into her feelings. I used to hate my name because whenever someone heard it they thought I was a boy. This made me feel really uncomfortable. I was also embarrassed that my parents were divorced. Everyone made fun of me because of them.

    It’s so cool you’ve been to that many states I’ve only been to 3. Your son sounds so cute. I agree with your theme it does sound like she’s embarrassed and maybe one day she will have a house worth feeling proud of.

    I think it is awesome that you have been to that many states!! I've been to about 10!! Pretty Cool. And this theme stuck out to me as well. Makes you feel kind of bad for her.
