Journal 4-Brady Hund

The chapter I was assigned was No Speak English. This chapter I had great detail and Cisneros does a fantastic job using really good similes. For instance, on page 76. Cisneros says, " The taxi door opened like a waiters arm." Cisnero does a great job giving similies that really bring the story to life. I also think that writing was very creative on page 78. Cisneros says. " No speak English, she says top the child who is singing in the language that sounds like tin. No speak English, no speak English, and bubbles into tears. NO , no , no. as if she cant believe her ears." This paragraph reminds me of Dr. Seus. It rhymes and Cisneros made it a litter more fun to read. Also, I loved the simile of the kids language sounding like tin. Great detail.

A roll model I've had in my life lately is my landlords husband, Dave. He is also the maintenance man that takes care of any of the problems that may occur in my apartment complex.Dave is a very hardworking man and hes always full of advice no matter what the situation is. Dave is somewhat of a mentor to me and I respect the man to a max point.Although we joke around with each other a lot, Dave has helped me overcome a few obstacles that have recently appeared in my life. Dave is always a happy man, and hes not afraid to tell you the truth or speak his mind about something. He his happily married and I respect the way he treats his woman. Dave is a great role-model and I look up to his actions.
